Delta to Restore Nonstop Service Between Boston and Hawaii

Delta Air Lines announced Friday that nonstop flights between Boston and Hawaii will return in late 2026, giving Bostonians a direct connection once again.

Delta, a leading carrier at Logan International Airport, will launch seasonal winter service between Boston and Daniel K. Inouye International Airport on Dec. 19. The route will once again stand as the longest domestic flight in the United States.

Last year, travelers from Boston had two options for nonstop flights to Hawaii — Delta Air Lines and Hawaiian Airlines — but both routes were discontinued, leaving no direct connection between New England and Hawaii.

Delta had introduced direct Boston–Honolulu service in 2024 but paused it in 2025 “to align with consumer demand.” Hawaiian Airlines then canceled its own Boston–Honolulu route in August, citing poor performance.

Delta officials said in a press release that the returning route “reopens a long-haul leisure link between the Northeast and the islands, offering customers a single-flight escape to O‘ahu’s iconic shoreline, cultural landmarks, and vibrant city-meets-beach atmosphere.”

The airline plans to operate daily flights during the busy December holiday period before shifting to four flights per week for the remainder of the winter season. An end date for the seasonal service has not yet been announced. Travelers will fly aboard an Airbus A330-300.

“Hawaii plays an important role in our long-haul leisure network,” said Amy Martin, vice president of network planning for Delta Air Lines. “This expansion strengthens connectivity from key U.S. hubs while giving customers more choice in how they reach the islands, alongside the premium travel experience they expect on these long-haul flights.”
