White Castle has launched its first fully automated airport kiosk at Boston Logan International Airport’s Terminal A, offering travelers four varieties of ready-to-eat sliders. While White Castle sliders have long been available in multi-brand kiosks at college campuses and hospitals across the country, this new Crave & Go kiosk marks the brand’s first standalone automated unit.
Developed in partnership with Just Baked and Evolvending, the kiosk offers a selection of the original slider, classic cheese slider, cheddar bacon cheese slider, and chicken and cheese slider. Each item is prepared and ready in under two minutes, giving travelers a quick, convenient meal option.
“White Castle is excited to bring ‘The Crave’ to Boston Logan and nourishment to travelers at this iconic airport,” said Sarah Paulson, director of retail marketing, innovation, and licensing for White Castle. “For nearly 40 years, our retail division has been bringing sliders to cravers outside of restaurants. Now, these same sliders are ready in under two minutes for a hot and tasty meal or snack on the go.”
White Castle is part of a growing movement of brands investing in automated kiosks and vending solutions in nontraditional locations. Recently, Chick-fil-A began testing temperature-controlled market fridges at Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta and the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. California Pizza Kitchen is also exploring automated vending technologies, though details have not yet been released.
White Castle has confirmed that this Crave & Go installation is one of several kiosks planned to open in travel centers soon, signaling an expansion of its automated retail footprint.
