MUMBAI, Apr 28, 2025 – Jet Freight Logistics Ltd (JFLL), a Mumbai-based integrated freight management company, has been selected as the launch customer for a new fleet of Airbus A330 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversions, making it the first Indian operator of the widebody A330 P2F platform. This initiative is backed by Dubai-based Confity Capital Partners in partnership with Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW) and the Seclink Group under Airbus’s conversion programme.

Under the agreement, Confity has placed a multi-aircraft order for at least ten A330s, which will undergo conversion at EFW’s Dresden facility and other partner sites toward the end of this year. Jet Freight will lease an undisclosed number of these freighters and outsource flight operations to a licensed commercial airline, though the exact launch date remains unannounced.

An EFW spokeswoman, Anke Lemke, confirmed that Confity has reserved production slots for at least ten aircraft, with conversion work set to commence later this year.

The A330-300P2F offers a gross payload capacity of up to 62 tonnes and a containerised volume of 18,581 cubic feet, while the A330-200P2F can carry up to 60 tonnes over distances up to 7,700 kilometres. These capabilities are poised to boost capacity and efficiency, meeting the surge in India’s e-commerce, export, and infrastructure demands.

Richard Theknath, Chairman and Managing Director of Jet Freight Logistics, commented, “We are truly honoured to be the first Indian operator of the Airbus A330 P2F widebody cargo aircraft. This milestone not only reinforces our commitment to innovation and capacity expansion but also positions Jet Freight Logistics at the forefront of the global cargo market”.

As India’s logistics sector undergoes rapid modernization, Jet Freight’s entry into widebody freighter operations underscores its ambition to build a robust air cargo network—linking domestic origins with international destinations and further cementing the country’s emergence as a global trade hub.
