Delhi in World’s Top 100 Airports for 2025: See the Other Three

Lingering at airports can be a tedious experience—except at Singapore’s Changi. Recently named the World’s Best Airport for an unprecedented 13th time by Skytrax, an international air travel rating organization, it’s far from ordinary. With its blend of luxury, comfort, and entertainment, Changi feels more like a destination worth visiting than a typical airport.
Notably, four airports from India also secured spots among the top 100 globally.
Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport claimed the 32nd position. As India’s busiest hub, it stands out for its contemporary terminals, artistic installations, streamlined immigration process, and excellent connectivity.
Bangalore’s Kempegowda International Airport landed at 48th place. Its stunning new Terminal 2, designed with a nature-inspired theme, boasts abundant greenery, artistic elements, and spacious, open areas.
Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport secured the 56th spot. It earns acclaim for its spotless environment, courteous staff, and seamless passenger experience.
Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport took the 73rd position. Among the nation’s busiest hubs, it’s celebrated for its impressive architecture and captivating art installations.
Indian Airports Show Ranking Gains
While no Indian airport has yet broken into the global top 20, their positions have seen significant improvement this year. For instance, Delhi’s airport climbed to 32nd in 2025 from 36th in 2024. Bangalore’s airport advanced to 48th in 2025, up from 58th the previous year. Hyderabad and Mumbai airports also rose, reaching 56th and 73rd in 2025, compared to 59th and 95th in 2024, respectively.
World’s best airports ranked
In the 2024 rankings, Singapore’s Changi Airport took second place, while Doha’s Hamad International Airport claimed the top spot. At Changi, passengers can check in up to 48 hours before their flight and enjoy a variety of attractions, including the expansive Jewel shopping mall, breathtaking indoor gardens, a butterfly center, and the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, the 40-meter Rain Vortex. The airport also offers spas, hotels, a museum, art exhibitions, a cinema, and a unique dinosaur-themed park.
At this year’s World Airport Awards, held in Madrid on April 9, Changi Airport also secured the following accolades:
- World’s Best Airport Dining
- World’s Best Airport Washrooms
- Best Airport in Asia
Per a CNN report, Changi is set to invest over $2 billion in upgrades and is constructing a fifth terminal, slated for completion in the 2030s.
Global Airport Standouts
Hot on Changi’s heels, Qatar’s Hamad International Airport claimed second place in the 2025 rankings. Renowned for its lavish lounges and art-infused design, it also earned titles for Best Airport Shopping and Best in the Middle East.
Asian airports swept positions three through six, with Tokyo Haneda, Seoul Incheon, Tokyo Narita, and Hong Kong International showcasing the region’s dominance in airport excellence.
From Europe, Paris Charles de Gaulle topped the continent’s entries at No. 7, joined in the top 20 by Rome, Munich, Zurich, Helsinki, Vienna, Copenhagen, and Amsterdam.
Vancouver International stood alone as the only airport from the Americas in the top 20, landing at No. 13. Meanwhile, Cape Town Airport earned honors as Africa’s Best Airport and for Best Staff Service in the region.
